“A Spiritual Renewal”

But those who wait on the Lord. Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31, NKJV)

Welcome to our 2020 Annual Homecoming Services!  It is with great joy that I extend a heartfelt welcome to you, family, and friends as we celebrate another Homecoming and non-traditional Revivals via “online streaming” virtually.  We are living in unchartered and unprecedented “Worst/Best Time in Ministry” due to Covid-19/Coronavirus Pandemic.   Things that considered to be normal have changed in the era of social distancing, the wearing of mask, frequent handwashing, and temperature checks becoming the “New” church norms.

Days of handshaking, hugging, laying on of hands, sharing microphones, and choirs are distant memories and we have enveloped into the waving of hands, and “Praise Groups.” These changes will be different in our churches Pre and Post-Pandemic.  Yet in the midst of these changes, one change that needs to take place in our church is the glory of God, and a Spiritual Renewal.” Let us continue honoring, praising, worshipping, and giving God the glory that He deserves!

We pray that you have come with a prepared heart praising and worshipping God advancing our 2020-2021 Theme of, “A Spiritual Renewal” drawn from the prophecy of Isaiah, “But those who wait on the Lord...Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (Isa 40:31, NKJV).

Brethren, these are the “Worst/Best Time in Ministry”, as we embrace the changes of Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper, and Reaching Higher in the Lord’s vision of hope for the remainder of 2020-2021 season.  Therefore, I ask you to join with us in the reading and studying the Book of Isaiah during the 2020-2021 season.  In this powerful prophetic message, Isaiah teaches us ‘to wait on and trust in the Lord’ ... God will show up in power and glory and breathe a new life into us Spiritually! “A Spiritual Renewal,” so let us welcome His presence.

I am praying and believing in God for a real spiritual awakening among his people! Thank you for fellowshipping with this beautiful congregation of people known as Mount Zion Baptist Church (MZBC).  Come let us worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness!

Sincerely Grateful,

Reverend Bryan Jerome Stevens, M.Div., Pastor
